&OUCH (CSBwin)

Post by Zyx »

Could you implement a &SHOWDAMAGE or &OUCH operation that would call the CSBwin function displaying the damage received by a character, in the portrait zone?
No need to inflict the damage, just show it.

The damage shown is very temporary. Is it not? It only
shows for a fraction of a second. Would it be better to
show the 'most recent' damage to a character? Maybe I
misunderstand. The &OUCH would show the parts of
the body currently injured. That should be easy. It is
part of &CHAR@. Unless, again, I misunderstand.

No, I'd like &OUCH to display a damage in the portrait zone, in yellow and red.
Parameters would be index of character and number to be displayed as if it was a damage.

The reason of it is that when I decrease life of a character with &CHAR!, it is not obious for the player and looks like a bug, since normal damages are displayed when received.

I don't rightly know how this is done. I'll try.

could this also be used for your stat sucking monsters? Could be a colour of text to indicate what it's taking? Red for health, blue for mana, green for permanent stats? or whatever
