by using realistic elements and painting over them. I used real rocks and painted shadows around them to make them fit.. for some parts I had to paint in my own but for the most part.. to update this I didn't want to have to take too long, and painting them all by hand from scratch would have taken too long. I essentially did what we do in 3D to make a realistic texture.. borrow a bit from life and then use our imagination.
As for the face, I had to repaint it. It looked a little too much like someone and they didn't want it in print the size it would end up being. so this is why it's so different.
