[Custom Dungeon] [Dungeon Master for CSBWin] Feedback

Post by Paul Stevens »

Sphenx has done something amazing here. He converted
Dungeon Master to play with CSB for Windows and it works
great.

At the Diamond Edge trap there is a bug. You will need the
CSBWin from webpages.charter.net/pstevens1.
Get the latest CSBexe.zip file. This executable is not yet
prepared for general release.

I will try to fix any other bugs that are reported and post new
executables as quickly as possible. If you find a bug please
let one of us know.

If this works, you start up a race to fuse chaos like the race to the fulya pit. I not that good at DM but I would definetly compete.

Two races, please.

One measured by time.

One measured by number of moves.

Give us slow pokes a chance.

I have not yet even tried the recording feature with the DM
dungeon. Could someone could try it who does not mind reporting
failure???? It is a bit discouraging to have to start over but
there are few guarantees yet.

Please get version 9.03. It fixed four recording/playback problems.

Ok. I play a game up to the end of level 5 without saving and with only Petal (I killed the other three at the start). When I played back I started of in the Screamer/Oitu room in Chaos strikes back. I have got no idea how to fix this. I would have finished this game but I had to go out. Here is my playfile if you want to work with it. If this does work it should be posted in the main DM forum and I'm sure lots of people would compete

There should be no problem, playback works, and there are no found bugs in the current version of CSBWin working with the DM dungeon.

So far, I just know to make a savegame in the dungeon with Champions I want. I can make a savegame with only one Champion if you want, but then all competitors will not have the choice of the Champion.
This way all will start with the same savegame.

Antman,

Did you figure out what went wrong? There was no
attacment to your message.

You cannot be in the Screamer/Oitu room unless the program
somehow found a CSB savegame instead of the DM savegame.

Load and play your savegame manually to see what is in it.

Yup. I got it working. Don't ask what I did it was really stupid : )
Make a post in the DM forum when all is ready and rules have been set. Then I will race

My latest attemp got me to the end of the rat level (except the rats are hellhounds) and I died, but there were no bugs and it only took me about an hour to get there. So I will try again in a couple of days. One thing though, On level three that door which says "don't let a closed door stop you" well the door certainly did, it took me about ten minutes to get through there, is this because my character is so weak from side stepping almost every badguy?

Hehe, it is interesting this time that you'll have to practise your champion a little more than you did in CSB ;)
I personaly go until the knights level, and stopped after killing a knight with a dagger...
and I indeed noticed that you may die VERY quickly when you face some rats!
Giant wasps in level 11 are not bad either.

Anyway, I tested it entirely with the 4 complete team until I fuse Chaos, no bugs found.
(apart from the Diamond Edge trap, but it is fixed now)

As I said before, I can only make a savegame for playing DM in CSBWin, but I have good hopes that it will be possible to start as a normal game. Then I would say we can wait a little more before launching races, which doesn't prevent any of you for training now.

Normal rules will be:
you'll have only one character, he/her will be reincarnated.
Main goal is to fuse Chaos.

But I'd really like to have this one: "Kill the Dragon!!"

Yes, stamina levels seem to affect some internal strength modifier, so someone who can normal chop a door can't if their stamina levels are too low

And lol, kill the dragon? That could be doable, wimpy characters will gain a levl per punch/chop/fireball down there! : )
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!
