Dungeon Master/CsB set for Grimrock

Hi there, i think this may be interesting for any DM/CsB fan out there!
This is a double post from the Grimrock thread, i hope it fits into this section!

If you didn´t notice it already:
Since december´2012 i am working on a Dungeon Master/CsB wallset for Legend of Grimrock.
After 3 months of heavy work - really TONS of work - i can tell you it´s now near basic completion!

Included now:
- basic doors (portcullis, ornate, wood, wood hard, wood window, iron)
- amalgam socket for the powergem (3 models- full, active, burnt out), plus firestaff item
- VI altar
- most DM wall buttons
- fountain
- many decorations (locks, magic eye, gem socket, wall chain, hook, sconce..)
and all the rest as walls, alcoves, drainages, pits..

I too did a bunch of dm items yet (waterskin, weapons, gems, food)

The set will be released at the beginning of next month (march 2013) on grimrock nexus and maybe steam.
I promise i will work on it until all items are in!
All future additions come via update packages later then.

BTW, yet i managed to import a 3d model with bone animation - very basic - and it works. YEAH
That means there is a chance that DM/CSB monsters appear too :wink:

Ah, some of you may know me from the past, i created a graphic set for DMJava in the ancient times^^

It´s done so far!
I wait for a guy who implement the set into his DM remake dungeon - then i release dmcsb_pack for all.
End of week, i suggest. First at Grimrock nexus.

Excellent work Germanny! These walls and items really evoked the feeling of DM -- it will be interesting to see new Grimrock mods using them.... :)

Excellent work. Just one thing that bothers me : the lion fountain's eyes squint.

EDIT : here's some visual about what i mean. I've removed the pupil (lions do not have pupils!), added a little more agressive feel (eyes slightly rotated and larger snout)

Too bad for Gambit's sake there aren't any pies in it though... :P

The lionhead.. yes, maybe i fiddle around with it again. Want to make a single lionhead with gem sockets for dungeon mechanics.
I want to scale him a bit down, seems a little too big over the fountain.

Comscript released the DM dungeon remake with my wallset!
I rebuilt mostly all items from DM now, all playable in 'back into the dungeon'

back into the dungeon on Steam
back into the dungeon on Grimrock Nexus

Worth playing^^
I played to face lord chaos now, all is at its original place, all work well.

I really liked it, added a lot to the flair of the DM remake! I wish I could motivate myself to redo my dungeon in LoG, that would surely find a few new fans.

Shure, beside that - the set is basically not the *best* looking one. This is because i have made a mistake in creating the base wall, which is used for all sub textures and models.
Irreversible, too much work. And it is designed for pure DM feeling - and dm is unspecular nowadays..
But i´m on the way to release an update with more interesting stuff as wood-pillars, spike walls, coffins, walls with moss and lichen, timber stacks.. and so on.
Planned to add a set of wood (planks) walls that will compliment the wood pillars.
So as a mod resource it would be more interesting and one can build different looking levels with it.
Possible: level w. stone pillars, wood pillars, without pillars and combined with flat stone ceiling or wood/stone ceiling.

Awesome work Germanny. I keep getting other things getting in the way of buying LoG but I'll buy it before long and I'll definitely be interested in your wallset and the dungeons using it.

noticed grimlock on the steam sale installed it and first thing i did even before playing look for dungeons. I havn't even read the manual for the game yet. So far only played the DM dungeon. i'll have to get the tiggy dungeon, not even sure how steam handles dungeons, i guess people can just upload some.

Engine bug exploited in these maps. I wanted to profile mages so its not like "oh level 3 mage I can finally cast light", when I thought about a short cut(load\save all mages PC).

Lets raid all the good items in HoC. take a party of 4 one mage... fireburst(gothmog?) 3 of them dead select new characters you will notice they have zero HP, load them up toss the OLD bones into alter and Whamo new characters are alive!

so lvl 5 now nd omg TG maps have that notes... that teleport room is so much easier with notes you can scribe!
doing pretty good with a team of ONLY mages ^_^ kinda debating what i should with Tiggy(mage who is doing spellcraft). also noticing Lots more food then DM. I fear tht the 50 Ice magic would make the mages in DM OP in other dungeons...

now going back checking what characters are like i am now very intrested in how the characters got converted esp since its a one class game and no priest.
almost to lvl 8 now... my mages gothmog, tiggy, chani and boris lvl 10 btw. also a BIG TY for keeping those rabbit foots. no idea what they are in the base game but they are like the best item ever...
they can do a "monster hits you for 20 TIMES max health but this character takes no damage".

ah so DM wizard mana = energy and ninja\fighter DM its stamina that is energy... now to check the list of "priests"
hmm hawk a rogue, alittle unexpected but i can see it makes some sense.
so some of them seem based off levels while other are based off feelings. i mean zed had 2 each but always felt like a fighter to me. still not sure about how the rest of the stats but yeah it was good. also pretty good for the traits, thou i do kinda question the energy and will for mages alittle.

Amazing work Germmany as usual my friend. You've been modding since the says of DMJava and your modding skills have only gotten better! Thanks for making this. 8)

The only *minor* critic I have is the wall color is still a bit too brown. It should be light gray like in the original DM for the Amiga. Is there a way to make it more light gray?

speaking of missing looks like Lev just made a gothmog dungeon as well. Sadl a had a computer total crash and i never made any back ups... gonna have to redownload maps again... if your on steeam its popular download otherwise look for the same place you normally look for dungeons it should be listed.
