Older RTC versions
Since RTC custom dungeons often only work in the RTC version they have been created in and aside from that I find RTC developement history interesting -
Versions 28, 29, and 31 to 49 are still downloadable. Other seem not to be available anymore.
Does anyone still have 1-27and 30?

Re: Older RTC versions
I have quite a few of them, I'll see what I can dig out.
EDIT: A quick check on my machine and I only have back to v0.36. I might have earlier versions on an older backup somewhere, that will take longer to find.

Re: Older RTC versions
I have many of them, I think there were a couple of bumps where a release was bugged, so the next verison was put up and the old one removed. 0.30 rings a bell as being like that

Re: Older RTC versions
Nice find Gambit! I'll probably grab them aswell... especially for cases like this one, where someone wants them all.

Gambit and I are probably also in the interesting position to have developmental versions too :p

Re: Older RTC versions
Yeah, quite a few of these zips have TEST in the filename
I know ages ago George was keen not to have lots of old versions flying around the web, but I'm sure it wouldn't do any harm for historical interest to have a place where people can grab them all.

Re: Older RTC versions
Which would be perfectly reasonable if RTC were actually backward compatible, but it's really not, regardless of what anyone might say. So this is a useful resource.Gambit37 wrote:I know ages ago George was keen not to have lots of old versions flying around the web

Re: Older RTC versions
Actually, looking in my folder I'm missing 0.25 and 0.27, strange.
I'm happy to upload the full folder somewhere. However, it makes sense to have it on these here forums, but I think we are close to our file size hosting limit and these zips are nearly 100MB. I've offered free hosting to Beo if he wants to move it over to my reseller server.

Re: Older RTC versions
I honestly don't know -- when I used to do back-end stuff here, I ran into some "disk full" issues. Unless youv'e switched to a bigger hosting package, or they automatically upgraded it somewhere along the way, I'd keep alert to the possibility that we're close to full. I could be completely wrong of course, I have no idea what the hosting package is these days.

Re: Older RTC versions
Dunno whether there is actually space for the older RTC ones.
However, I would ask you whether you can send those earlier than V0.28 and V0.30 to me via Email (my name here at gmail dot com).

Re: Older RTC versions
I have just sent them, but gmail rejected them because they contain an exe !
EDIT : I made a second try with several changing names + packing, so I hope this will trick gmail !
I explain in the mail how to revert this

Re: Older RTC versions
Thanks for sending them files, packing worked fine.
I'm still looking for versions earlier than V0.15, V0.16 to 0.20, V0.25, and V0.30
You mentioned you had V0.30 too? Since it was not in the email, can you please send it in another mail?

Re: Older RTC versions
I can upload all the versions at the weekend on my own webspace if that's any good? You do seem to be in quite a hurry!
Re: Older RTC versions
No, I'm not in a hurry. Sooner or later I want to have all custom dungeons run in their proper engine version, but I'll take weeks to test them all anyway.
Still, getting a couple of them now along with a couple of missing custiom dungeons was a good opportunity.

Re: Older RTC versions
I'm not sure I ever gave you the link for these old versions of RTC, Lunever?
If you want them, they are still here: http://friskdesign.com/misc/rtc/versions/ [47MB]
Please let me know when you have them, so that I can delete them again. Thanks.

Re: Older RTC versions
Right, I'm not at home (using a netbook right now), but I'll check it later on when I'm back home.
Thanks anyway!

Re: Older RTC versions
I just doublechecked - I already got that version archive from you, you can delete it from your space. Thanx!
