Face Of Chaos / RTC : need help please about stairs

Post by LordXYP »

Hello from France.

I'm making a dungeon with RTC : - Face of Chaos- and i've ended to make the first large level but i dont understand how i can link the stair from level 0 to stairs of level 1.

Could everyone help me and explain to me how i can link stairs from one level to another ? Thanks ;)

Hello and welcome to the forum

You do not need to link stairs, the engine does it for you

Simply put a stairs_down floor object on the upper level, and then on the same co-ordinates on the lower level have stairs_up

but you have to mind, that there could be a level offset, which drags the whole level.
simply have a look at the offset co-ords in the upper left. they must be the same (in exception of the last number, which represents the level)

Offset - you can move each level so that it is not directly lined up with the level below. So you could declare an offset of say 5 and 5 to move the level by 5 in each direction from the normal.

Co-ordinates will always be from say 0 to 20 (local x,y) but then global co-ordinates can therefore be different (say 5 to 25 global x,y)

You need to line up the stairs below by the level offset above

No problem - I'll move this to RTC Editing - if you have any other questions, feel free to ask there

Once you've got close to releasing your dungeon, feel free to post something in the custom dungeon forum to let us know!

Ok ;)

But i think i'll need people to test and tell me opinions.

I think i'm too hard with players in this dungeon and i dont want to be hated by them... :(

By all means ask for playtesters and release beta dungeons on the custom forum when you wish!
