To make a random object appear (DM)

Post by Ian Clark »

This is a little complicated...

place a room totally shut off from the rest of the dungeon with a sort of middle square and where a monster would only be able to step on one square if placed in the middle square. See below

example 1 <a href="http://www.geocities.com/ianlclark/eg1. ... eg1.jpg</a>

The big dot is where the monster is put

or
example 2 <a href="http://www.geocities.com/ianlclark/eg2. ... eg2.jpg</a>
would work

place as many separate (again, shut off) squares as you like, however many possibilities of objects, the first example is 4 the second 2. Make them have teleporters on, deactivated and teleporting the objects to the relevant spot

Place pressure pads on the other squares in the above examples to acivate these teleporters accordingly. and make the middle square a false wall but open and place another pad on top of each to close the wall if it is stepped on.

Place a pressure pad in the actual dungeon on a square the characters must step on, which activates a teleporter with a monster on and it teleports the monster to the middle square, the monster will then step on one of the possible other squares thus teleporting one set of objects to the relevant place later in the dungeon. The false wall will stop the monster wandering round the room and teleporting all the objects to the spot in the dungeon.

Hope this works, as you can see it is a complicated process and uses lots of teleporters/pads.
