Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Hi Leslie,
You will need that sword at some point.
Have you been North from the start of ros?
Seems like a dead end but isn’t. There is something in that 3x3 room, but you can’t necessarily see it.... until you’ve already found it.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Aha, so below the Kuros level is a... OMG, what the hell is this guy?
Neither weaopons nor spells seem to harm it, so I just grabbed the scroll and crossed fingers that this beast does not need to be killed...
Took a short trip to Bellande's house and summoned some demons.
I was thrown to another dimension where I gathered three "void plates" and unlocked a RA lock. But I cannot find the way back to the entrance where I remember a RA door which could now have opened... is there a map of this place?

What are the bells that never ring? Enchanting smell, beautiful thing.
What are the lions that never roar? The wind blows their children far over the shore.
What are the gloves not worn by the hand? But worn by the foxes throughout the land.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Wow, that was some rapid progress.
The guy under the kuros level is the Hex Demon. You can still progress further, but will eventually have to kill it. It has something that will be important... or rather, it will cause something to happen to an object you already have.
You will have had a scroll in the mail with a cryptic clue, but to save you the time.... it mentions light and dark.
Think about a weapon you already have that might involve darkness, and think about sunlight and how it could be made more powerful. Connect the two. This is the only way to kill it.
If you’d like me to be more specific, you can pm me.
Unfortunately, the dimension of the damned has no map. Well done on finding the lock and getting the void steps so quickly. This is where the ros spell on the magic map is essential, so keep checking it with ros enabled. It will show you where to take them.
One more tip.... beyond ‘dotd’, make sure you take plenty of food. There is food beyond there, but there is a large section with none.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
I´m in the Invert reality, found key for the keep and a winged key. Fought the monsters and now my way is blocked by a force field with keyholes on both sides. Can´t seem to find the keys...
Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Hey m1ckey,
You’re making good progress. The keys are in another place.
Exit the keep and head south on the inverse reality level. You need to make your way through a series of puzzles involving the gates to get to the next level.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
May I ask how you got through the door maze near the "water" fountain?
At some points there are three doors in a row, close to the point is a scroll with a piece of math...?
I am unable to open the last of the three doors, and as fas I can tell I tried all combinations of open/closed doors so far.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Wow, you guys are flying...
Spoiler
The scroll is quite cryptic, but the (O) is for ‘Open’. So to open the third, the first and second must be open.
Spoiler
Try opening one in a different way. You don’t need to be stood next to it.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Is it an open-and-shut-case with the other doors, or something else?
Sorry for asking expliclitly, but have been opening and closing all the doors in multiple combinations. Just like to know if I overlooked a combination or have to try something else.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Got the keys for the force field. Now I´m in the "No magic allowed" part of the keep and missing a solid? key for the door behind pits&teleporters room. I´m assuming there´s something I need to do in the aforementioned room, rather than just run through it?
Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Well done getting those two keys, but there is more to do back in the level with the brown bricks.
The key is not on that level, but is connected to it.
Also, on that same level... don’t know if you’ve already done this but,
The key is not on that level, but is connected to it.
Spoiler
to get to that key, you’ll need to complete the recipe on the brown brick level.
Spoiler
You need to get through the ra door in the central room. This has nothing to do with the key, but there is something in there you’ll eventually need.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
I must have missed something.
I made it past the three doors, came to another door puzzle, which I solved by luck. Open and closed some random doors, and finally the corridor was open. It leads to an inactive teleport portal with a lock nearby to which I do not have the key. Even worse, the corridor closed behind me, so I had to reload.
I remember a key to a keep which I did not find, and seven deaths of stone, of which I found five so far.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Ah, the key to the teleport is actually very close to the teleport. You didn’t miss anything (apart from that one, obviously).
If you still have a save near the inactive teleport, go back to it.... bump some walls.
The keep is in the
but you might as well continue the way you’re going, because you’d have to come back anyway.

I just knew the cauldron was there for this very reason... Got it activated/boiling and have a very good hunch where the missing key MIGHT be... BUUUT I still need a little push, please.Saumun wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2017 6:17 pm Well done getting those two keys, but there is more to do back in the level with the brown bricks.

Figured out the RA door pretty easily.

Can’t think of a suitable clue that won’t easily give it away in the forum, so I’m sending you a pm (I have a question for you regarding the ra door anyway).

I actually found the keep, but not the key to enter it. Sorry if my wording was confusing.
Now I made it past the teleportation gate and am now in the - uhm - kitchen? I did not have time to venture further, but I will do the next days...

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Ah...
The keys on the cauldron level can also open the keep, but you’ll still need the seven deaths or you’ll be a key short inside the keep.

Saumun,
could you draw a map of the external area and post it here? I think it could be very useful 'cause getting lost is very easy. The outdoors are so big and maze-like...
Thanks

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Yes, it´s VERY disorienting at first. But I think that´s the idea and part of the charm.
Don´t worry, you´ll get hang of it soon enough and a map too.
Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Well, now I have final incantation and key to the old man´s house.
Currently I´m inside the house. Tried all incantations with the fireplace lit (thought that´s what the scroll about flames was about), but nada. There´s a locked cupboard upstairs which I don´t have a key for.
Wonder what to do next...

If you keep a keen eye in the guard tower, you can get one. Take some food with you though.

Forgot to mention....
For m1ckey:
When you’re finished in the house, I’d strongly advise you save the game.
There is somewhere else to go, and you cannot get back.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
Saumun,
in a previous savegame I entered the guard tower, but I got stuck. The front door closed, guards attacked me and a fireball didn't allow to pass the corridor on the right. Is it a dead end?

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
No, the “two steps from death” scroll is a clue to get past the guards.
Check out their movement. They are not equally distant to each other.
The food thing was a mistake on my part. I meant to add some to the guard tower, but forgot.
I’ll have to add it to a future update, but for now players will be able to get through as long as they take food. There is water in there, so that’s not a problem.
Once in the tower, you will be trapped until you find a way out.
Completing the tower though will give you access to more places.

Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
No, they’re not hidden... but the key is always with the 7th golem, no matter in which order they’re killed. So it’s impossible to get lucky and find the key early.
To be honest though, you’d be better off carrying on with the cauldron level and getting that key when you go for the keep.

Now I got old man´s ghost wandering around in the house. I seem to remember there was a clue about what he wants, but damn me if I can remember...
First instinct was, of course, to kill him AGAIN. Doesn´t work
Re: [RTC] The Trail: Part 1
His ghost needs to be transformed. All the things need to come into play...
Once he is transformed, he is killable... but will be very difficult without a certain special weapon.
