DM-type game - ON IPHONE SOON!

Hello everybody - DaveDog here: joker, hoaxer extraordinaire!

Well yes, it was a hoax and I appologise for that!

However, this is no hoax:
I'm part of a small team working on a iphone game inspired by classics of the genre (DM, Eye of the Beholder, Black Crypt etc).
The emphasis of the game will be on exploration and puzzle solving. It'll have a very dark mood.

The Youtube hoax has had nearly 50,000 views - so its clear to us that there is still an appetite for games within this genre! We aim to have the game released before the year is out.

I'll keep you all updated on its progress...

Oh, that.
I'm not sure who really fell for it, because it looked like a PC game from the mid 90s, not an up and coming Xbox game.

All I can say is we're working within the limitations of the iphone, and the small screen size - so creating a simple user interface that works for the device.
It'll use the grid-type movement system - as in, you'll move forward in steps when pressing forward, and turn in 90 degree steps when clicking to turn left/right, similar to the games that have inspired us.

Hi Gambit,

This is a cinematic teaser, aimed at generating a bit of interest in the project.
The ingame graphics will be pre-rendered, using the classic grid-based movement system that we all know and love from DM.

Hi oh_brother.

It'll be on iphone initially... but Android is certainly a possibility once the iphone version is complete. I'll keep you updated on this one.

I do not know how many people on this forum have iPhones, but at least 3 have Androids.

Well done on getting your game released. I don't currently have a smartphone, so I can't try it out, but congratulations anyway
