We have noticed a brute force attack to log into the forums on many user accounts.

If you account was hacked (you cannot log in anymore or any suspicious activity occured with your account like posts you did'nt write) please reply here (register another user account if necessary).

Even if you account was not hacked, please make sure your password is complex to avoid any possible hacking.

Is this related to the fact that I only see the pro-screamer skin when I am logged in? When I get to the site first it is the old silver/blue version.

Yes, the proScreamer needs an update so that the captcha will work when logging in.

Yup, that's exactly why. The proscreamer doens't let you see the catchpa that comes up if a bot tries to brute-force your account. So to let people like Trego log on we made it so the default is the pro silver.

If linflas can generaously upgrade the proscreamer scheme (and he's got alot of RL stuff to do in the next month* for the current upgrade, we could make the default proscreamer again.

we were hacked that once.. a long time ago.. took away the home page.. Black knights or some such.. some group that had a forum of their own and it was all in farsi.. they were hacking a canadian owned website, on a czech server, frequented by europeans... all to protest the US army... how randomly unrelated is that.. hackers think they're smart.. but they're not..
